A Look at What a Refreshed Tesla Model 3 Could Look Like

Tesla is unifying styling across its lineup with cohesive lighting elements. The updated Tesla Semi, for example, now features a front light bar.

Enthusiasts and designers are considering how the “Juniper” design language could translate to the company’s popular sedan.

Designer Justin Sackman produced a render—shared on X by @DennisCW_—that illustrates what a refreshed Model 3 might look like.

Bringing the Juniper Aesthetic to the Model 3

The concept adapts the crossover’s sleek lighting to the sedan. Up front, it replaces the current headlight housings with a continuous full-width light bar and slim adaptive daytime running lights that trace the edge of the hood. Below the light bar, a smoother bumper intake aims to refine aerodynamics and delivers a more futuristic appearance.

The rear treatment is even bolder, adding a full-width light bar across the trunk lid that aligns with recent fleet updates such as the new Model Y L. The side view keeps familiar proportions while wearing dark multi-spoke aero wheels.

The “Highland” Model 3 refresh arrived in 2023 with a sleeker nose and interior improvements. The Juniper Model Y followed in 2025 with light bars and revised bumpers, opening the door to harmonize both high-volume vehicles under a shared design language.

The current Model 3 uses Tesla’s Hardware 4 (HW4/AI4). A successor could introduce a new FSD/AI computer powered by Tesla’s next-generation AI4+ or AI5 chip, and may add camera washers for the external cameras, similar to the Model Y robotaxi.

Earlier this year marked a decade since the Model 3 unveil. The vehicle helped bring long range and premium software to mass-market pricing and remains the most accessible product in the lineup, starting at the equivalent of just $29,000 USD in some markets.

Owner Wishlist and Future Upgrades

If a future facelift reaches production, it could revive early prototype touches that never shipped, such as the ultra-clean white interior trim shown at the original 2016 reveal.

Interior technology often advances between major overhauls; a future update could add upgraded actively cooled wireless phone chargers to help prevent smartphones from overheating.

Owners also hope to see the Model Y L’s vehicle-to-load capability make its way to the Model 3, along with Bioweapon Defense Mode offered on other models.

On performance, the current Model 3 Performance delivers strong acceleration, yet speculation continues that the platform could go further. Tesla’s chief engineer has previously teased a tri-motor Model 3 Plaid, which could become feasible with an updated compact sedan platform.

No official plans for another Model 3 update have been announced, but Sackman’s concept illustrates how light bar styling could further unify the brand’s design across the lineup.
