The fade

Most puddle lights are a printed sheet of plastic.

The LED sits directly behind the image. Heat does to plastic film what you would expect it to do: the logo goes soft, then blurry, then it is just a bright smudge on the tarmac. Owners usually notice around the second month.

What we do instead

The image is laser-engraved into a glass lens. Glass does not care about LED heat, so the projection stays as sharp on year three as it was on day one.

Most puddle lights are a printed sheet of plastic.

The rear-door problem

Four lights, two of them dim.

Tesla's door circuit gives each light a small, fixed amount of power. Units that pull more than that leave the rear pair dim or dark the moment all four doors are open — exactly when people are getting in.

What we do instead

The circuitry is matched to the factory draw, so a set of four behaves like a set of four.

Installation is very easy. Without any problems. Bought on 4 doors, everything works.

Four lights, two of them dim.

The question everyone asks

"Will these break my window?"

The story comes from faulty units that short the door circuit and confuse the window sensor. It is a real failure mode, and it is the reason to care what you plug in. Ours is built to the factory draw so the door electronics see what they expect to see.

I was nervous about the reviews regarding the windows not opening up on opening the door, but it works exactly as the factory lights. Excellent quality!

They are perfect! The quality is great, the logo is clear. I like that they are in black color, perfectly fits with black door panels. Low price for good quality product. Fast shipping. It took about 7 minutes to replace the lights.

Will this void my Tesla warranty?

No. The units use the same connector as the factory lights and change nothing in the car's wiring or software.

Will they affect my windows?

The window problem people read about comes from units that short the door circuit and confuse the window sensor. Ours is built to the factory power draw, so the door electronics behave normally. If anything is off, you have 30 days to send them back.

Do all four light up if I buy four?

Yes. That is what the matched power draw is for — with four fitted, the rear pair stays as bright as the front.

Is it hard to install?

Four steps per door and no tools beyond the trim tool in the box. Owners report five to ten minutes for a full set.

White or red?

White reads closest to the factory lighting. Red is the louder choice and shows up more on dark tarmac. Same unit otherwise, same price.

What if I don't like them?

Thirty days to return them, for any reason. Shipping is free both ways.

Every door opening, for the next fifty thousand hours.
