Tesla Update 2026.38.5.5: FSD (Supervised) v14.3.12 Down Under
FSD (Supervised) v14.3.12 Down Under

Full Self-Driving (Supervised) v14.3.12 delivers broad improvements across perception, planning, and driver experience.
- Upgrades the Reinforcement Learning (RL) training stage for the FSD neural network, improving performance across many driving situations.
- Enhances the neural network vision encoder to better interpret rare and low-visibility conditions, strengthen 3D geometry understanding, and expand traffic sign comprehension.
- Rewrites the AI compiler and runtime with MLIR, yielding a 20% faster reaction time and faster model iteration.
- Reduces unnecessary lane biasing and minor tailgating behaviors.
- Increases decisiveness when selecting and maneuvering into parking spots.
- Improves parking location pin prediction, now shown on a map with a P icon.
- Improves responses to emergency vehicles, school buses, right-of-way violators, and other rare vehicles.
- Improves handling of small animals through RL training on harder examples and added rewards for proactive safety.
- Improves traffic light handling at complex intersections with compound lights, curved roads, and yellow light stopping, trained on difficult RL examples from the fleet.
- Improves handling of rare and unusual objects that may extend, hang, or lean into the vehicle path, by leveraging infrequent events sourced from the fleet.
- Improves resilience during temporary system degradations by maintaining control and automatically recovering without driver intervention, reducing unnecessary disengagements.
- Increases driver monitoring sensitivity with better eye gaze tracking, improved handling of eye wear, and higher accuracy in variable lighting.
- After a takeover, you can select an intervention reason on the main screen to help improve Self-Driving.
- You can now view distance traveled in FSD (Supervised) without an intervention; the Self-Driving App also shows your longest intervention-free streak.
- Parking options now appear on the map upon arrival at your destination.
Upcoming Improvements
- Expand reasoning to all behaviors beyond destination handling.
- Add pothole avoidance.
Availability: Requires HW4; Models: New S, 3, New X, Y.
Arrival Options

- Select an arrival option such as Carpark, Indoor Carpark, Street, Driveway, or Pull Over for Robotaxi-style drop offs.
- Preferences for arrival options and preferred parking positions are saved per destination.
- A reasoning model evaluates your destination and chooses an intuitive default option.
- The navigation pin adjusts based on the Arrival Option you select.
Availability: Requires HW4; Models: New S, 3, New X, Y.
Speed Profiles

FSD (Supervised) now determines appropriate speed using a mix of driver profile, posted speed limit, and surrounding traffic.
- Driver profile has greater influence; more assertive profiles allow a higher max speed.
- The right scroll-wheel now adjusts the Speed Profile setting instead of a precise max speed offset in mph or km/h.
- Introduces the SLOTH profile with lower speeds and more conservative lane selection than CHILL.
- Introduces the MAD MAX profile with higher speeds than HURRY.
Availability: Requires HW4; Models: New S, 3, New X, Y.
UI Improvements

- View Self-Driving stats under Controls > Self-Driving.
- Start Self-Driving with a tap of the touchscreen from Park or at any time during your drive.
- Adjust settings like Speed Profile and Arrival Options directly from the Self-Driving visualization on the center display.
Availability: Requires HW4; Models: New S, 3, New X, Y.
Brake Confirm

Brake Confirm for the Start Self-Driving button is now off by default. When disabled, engaging Start Self-Driving no longer requires pressing and releasing the brake to confirm.
You can enable Brake Confirm in Self-Driving > Brake Confirm.
Availability: Requires HW4; Models: New S, 3, New X, Y.
Halloween Mode

Halloween Mode lets you add a Ghost Costume to the car visualization, enable Trick or Treat Mode to play spooky sounds and flicker the lights when visitors approach, schedule a haunting light show, and turn your car into a chilling Photobooth.
Availability: Available Worldwide; Requires AMD; Models: New S, 3, New X, Y, CT.
Set Arrival Energy

From your phone, set a desired Arrival Energy for any trip: open the location tab in the Tesla Mobile App, enter a destination, and tap Set Arrival Energy. Requires Mobile App v4.58.0 or later.
Availability: Available Worldwide; Models: S, 3, X, Y, CT.
Security Improvements

This update includes important security fixes and improvements.
Availability: Available Worldwide; Models: S, 3, X, Y, CT.
FSD Streaks

This update adds FSD Streaks support to legacy Model S and Model X. This applies to legacy Model S/X vehicles with Intel and HW3.
Grok No Longer in Beta

With this update, the beta label has been removed from Grok.
Availability: Available Worldwide; Models: S, 3, X, Y, CT.
Service Mode Improvements

Quick Touchscreen Language Switch: When entering Service Mode, the vehicle’s original language setting is saved. If the touchscreen language differs from the default language of the vehicle’s current country location, a Change Touchscreen Language button (always shown in English) appears at the top of the Service panel to let users pick a preferred language. Upon exiting Service Mode, the customer’s original language setting is restored. Note: touchscreen language changes restart the user interface. Models: All.
High Voltage Panel – Isolation Alert Popup: The High Voltage panel now shows status information for each isolation health dot via a popup. Tap a component’s health dot to view current isolation resistance values. If the component is unhealthy, the popup also lists current isolation resistance values and any isolation alerts or Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) present on the vehicle. Models: All.
