After two years without updates on one of the remaining FSD features for its flagship vehicle, Tesla has confirmed that Actually Smart Summon is launching soon for the Cybertruck. The company shared a video on X showing the Cybertruck autonomously navigating a complex parking lot to meet its driver.
This is the first official acknowledgment of the Cybertruck feature since September 2024. In the video, the vehicle backs out of an angled parking stall, makes a tight turn around a sharp corner, and then arrives smoothly at the chosen pickup spot.

Summon is Now a Part of V14
The timing aligns with a major backend architectural update to Actually Smart Summon. Tesla recently updated Actually Smart Summon to respond faster and operate more smoothly.
Previously, Actually Smart Summon ran on an older FSD stack. As part of FSD v14.3.2, Tesla migrated the feature to the end-to-end FSD v14 stack. The update dramatically improved responsiveness, speed (up to 8 mph), and overall fluidity of ASS (video). This unified model is likely what enabled Tesla’s AI team to adapt the feature for the Cybertruck.
The Cybertruck’s Unique Hardware
Low-speed autonomous maneuvers on the Cybertruck differ from the rest of Tesla’s lineup. The vehicle employs a full Steer-by-Wire system combined with active Rear-Wheel Steering.

These systems let the Cybertruck achieve a notably tight turning radius for a vehicle of its size. Integrating them into Actually Smart Summon likely contributed to the delay in bringing the feature to the Cybertruck. Tesla previously noted that it had to train new neural network models specifically for steering the Cybertruck when FSD v12.5.5, the very first version of FSD for Cybertruck, launched.

What About Basic Summon?
Although the demonstration of a Cybertruck driving itself with nobody in the seat is compelling, Tesla has not confirmed whether the traditional Dumb Summon feature will be included in the rollout.
The simpler version of summon lets owners move a vehicle straight forward or backward into tight garages instead of setting an arrival point or calling the vehicle to themselves. Given the Cybertruck’s width, basic straight-line summon remains a frequently requested utility. It is also useful when hitching a trailer and can speed up the process when paired with the Cybertruck’s Air Suspension.
When Does it Arrive?
Tesla’s post on X states that “Summon for Cybertruck rolling out shortly.”
Despite the short-sounding timeline, “soon” can take longer than expected, and updates typically roll out gradually, similar to FSD v14.3.3. If validation proceeds smoothly, early-access testers could see the feature as early as this weekend, while regular owners will likely wait longer.
