Tesla China Releases 8 Official Roadster Wallpapers for Mobile
Tesla China has published eight official Roadster wallpapers tailored for phones, each featuring the Roadster wordmark along the bottom (via @TeslaNewswire).
What the 8 Wallpapers Show
Several images spotlight the car’s near-sci-fi moves. One depicts the kickflip from Tesla’s Roadster reveal event, where the car leaped over a Semi and other Tesla vehicles while performing a mid-air barrel roll, with cold-gas thrusters venting plumes. Another shows the rear thrusters firing and billowing smoke as the Roadster hovers.
Design-centric shots include a top-down view on a cracked desert lakebed beside a figure in a spacesuit, highlighting the tinted Gold Glazed glass. A starry night scene captures the manual scissor doors open, and a dramatic studio setup places the car sideways against a wall—underscoring that it can adhere to surfaces perpendicular or even parallel to the ground thanks to a fan-based suction system that generates 2 Gs of downforce. Close-ups emphasize the full-width light bar, an active aero wing, and the rear thruster nozzles.
How It Differs From the 2017 Concept
The wallpapers also make clear how much the Roadster has evolved. The 2017 concept was a curvy red sports car resembling a lower, sleeker Model 3. The new design adopts a sharp, wedge-shaped supercar profile with scissor doors and active aero, drawing comparisons to Ferrari and Lamborghini. Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna even gave Tesla’s Roadster reveal a perfect 10 out of 10 for technology and presentation.
Performance claims are equally bold: the Roadster delivers 1 MW of power and achieved 0-60 mph in 0.81 seconds at the event, with Tesla aiming for an even quicker production version.
With production not slated to begin until 2028, these wallpapers may be the closest most people get to the Roadster for now.
