Tesla has begun deploying its large Spring 2026 Software Update. Alongside headline additions such as the new "Hey Grok" wake word and interactive rear maps, the release includes numerous smaller refinements. Highlights include a rebuilt weather map, new music gestures, and an updated settings layout. Version 2026.14 is shaping up to be a feature drop comparable to the company's yearly Holiday Updates.
Tesla enthusiast Max Bracco (@maxbrco) has been showcasing early changes as they reach his vehicle, revealing several quality-of-life improvements not called out in the initial release notes. Below is a closer look at what else arrives with the Spring Update.
High-Definition Weather Maps
One of the most noticeable changes is the redesigned weather map. It introduces a more sophisticated color palette, and the radar view has been refined to better differentiate rain from snow and to distinguish among various precipitation types.
Beyond the visual tweaks, the map now offers an "hour-back" history, letting you scrub through the previous hour of weather data to see how a storm has moved. This helps drivers judge whether they're heading into a system or if it is passing.
Intuitive Music Queuing and Gestures
Music fans gain new gesture controls that make the in-car player feel more like a smartphone.
I really love the new queuing system! You can add songs either by swiping right or clicking the 3 dots next to a song pic.twitter.com/sPEzpBJyVU

You can now swipe right on any track in Apple Music or Spotify to add it to the play queue. Platform-specific shortcuts are also available: in Apple Music, tap-and-hold a track to manage Favorites; in Spotify, swipe left to manage Liked Songs. These shortcuts reduce menu diving and keep attention on the road.
Settings Menu Redesign: Profiles and Grok
The interface has been tidied by consolidating more controls in the main Settings menu. A new profile menu now appears in Settings, and Grok Settings have been added to the Audio tab.
Previously, driver profile options lived behind the Profile icon in the status bar. Now they are accessible via Settings > Profiles. Grok settings — which were previously only inside the Grok app — are also mirrored in Settings under Audio, including toggles for the new "Hey Grok" wake word, NSFW filters, and precise location sharing.
Creations: A New Hub in the Tesla App
In the latest version of the Tesla app, the "Photobooth" section has been renamed "Creations." The Creations tab stores any pictures created with the AMD-only Photobooth feature, as well as all Sketchpad drawings.
This change is tied specifically to the Spring Update and reflects major upgrades to the in-car Sketchpad. The updated Sketchpad supports stickers and emojis like those in Photobooth. Creations are saved to the car's storage and synced to the mobile app under the new tab, allowing quick viewing or sharing to social media from your phone.
Dashcam Upgrades: New Save Button and 24-Hour Buffer
Perhaps the most useful "undocumented" addition in version 2026.14 (and later) is a dedicated Save button in the Dashcam Viewer, making it faster to secure a recent clip.
Under the hood, Tesla has expanded the Dashcam buffer from just one hour to 24 hours, bringing global vehicles in line with the extended recording capabilities introduced in China earlier this year. You can save any clip from the previous day for permanent storage via the Dashcam Viewer in the App Launcher. The latest mobile app update also adds real-time telemetry data to saved clips, including speed, steering wheel angle, and FSD status.
The Foundation for a Smarter Future
The Spring 2026 Software Update touches almost every part of the Tesla ecosystem. Alongside interactive rear maps and higher-quality visualizations for the newest models, smaller refinements emphasize everyday usability. The addition of a dedicated wake word for Grok, the rebranding of Dog Mode to Pet Mode, and a new Self-Driving app round out the release as it continues rolling out to the global fleet.
