Tesla Halloween Mode Skips Intel Vehicles in Update 2026.38.3
Tesla’s Halloween Mode brings Halloween-inspired FSD visuals, a trick or treating mode, and spooky sounds, but Intel-based vehicles appear to be excluded.
Intel-equipped vehicles have begun receiving the software update, yet Halloween Mode does not appear in their release notes.
No Halloween Mode Listed
Halloween Mode arrived with update 2026.38.3. Since then, Intel-powered Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y vehicles have received the update. For these Intel vehicles, the release notes omit Halloween Mode entirely and instead mention other additions such as Supercharger Site Maps and the Emergency Drive Away feature for Superchargers in the U.S.
Meanwhile, AMD-equipped Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck vehicles are receiving Halloween features, as are compatible Model 3 and Model Y vehicles.
Halloween Features Missing
Some omissions were expected: Intel vehicles already lack the fullscreen parked visualization and Photobooth, so their Halloween variants were unlikely to appear.
The rest are less clear. The mode’s FSD visualizations include green vehicles, skeleton pedestrians, pumpkin traffic lights, and purple lane markings and driving paths—elements that replace the usual visualization assets and seemed feasible for Intel versions.
The ghost sheet overlay changes its movement with vehicle speed, which may challenge older hardware. Trick or Treat mode—showing a grinning, winking jack-o’-lantern that reacts to approaching visitors with sounds and lights—also appears to be absent.
Also apparently missing are Halloween wraps, the lock sound, the owl turn signal sound, the exterior-speaker voice effect, and the Fright Show light show. Intel vehicles already support custom wraps and, when equipped with the required exterior speaker, custom lock sounds.
The Intel and AMD Infotainment Divide
Tesla’s transition from Intel Atom to AMD Ryzen occurred across models during 2021 and 2022. While older hardware already misses several graphics-heavy features, there still seemed room for certain Halloween Mode elements on Intel vehicles.
The newest Intel-based vehicles are approaching five years old.
Could Halloween Features Still Reach Intel Vehicles?
A later update could potentially add Intel-compatible Halloween Mode features. It’s also possible some smaller Halloween items, such as Halloween wraps, are included in the update but not mentioned in the release notes.
