Tesla Begins Selling Pre-Owned Cybertrucks, Sells Out in Under 24 Hours

On June 1st, 2026, Tesla listed used Cybertrucks on its website for purchase for the first time, nearly two-and-a-half years after the stainless steel truck launched. Over the last two years, prices and resale values have stayed relatively steady on the third-party market.

All the posted Cybertrucks sold out in under 24 hours as inventory dwindled overnight. The final listings appeared in Arizona at noon on June 2nd. As of today, lead times for new Premium AWD Cybertrucks and Cyberbeasts are three to four months.

Software Stripped — No FSD

When bought new, Foundation Series Cybertrucks carried a $20,000 premium and explicitly included permanent ownership of FSD tied to the VIN. For this pre-owned rollout, Tesla downgraded all vehicles that would normally have had permanent FSD ownership.

Instead, secondary buyers received a three-month promotional subscription to FSD, Premium Connectivity, and Free Supercharging. A similar limitation applied to subsequent non-Foundation series Cyberbeasts sold with the Luxe Package, which also included FSD; those buyers received a one-month promotional subscription.

Pushing Subscriptions

Since Tesla shifted FSD to a software-as-a-service model, the company has been permanently removing FSD licenses from pre-owned inventory, steering owners toward the subscription option.

Buyers who want a Foundation Series with lifetime FSD included need to turn to private or third-party resellers, as Tesla has not removed lifetime FSD on those VINs.

Price

The brief availability of used listings showed pricing that started at $66,200 for a used Foundation Series Premium AWD with 2,566 miles, and reached $94,800 for a non-Foundation Cyberbeast with 5,256 miles.

To simplify cross-state purchases, Tesla paired these prices with a flat $2,500 delivery fee to any location in the continental United States. This limited release of pre-owned inventory may influence the used market by helping to suppress high used-vehicle prices.
