Changes to Tesla Home

Tesla Changes to Tesla Home feature in update 4.57.5

In the Tesla app, the home area for Wall Connector, Powerwall, and Tesla Solar owners is now called Tesla Home, replacing My Home.

Settings within Tesla Home have been reorganized into categories: Home Settings, Your Products, and Site Configuration.

Improved Parental Controls

Tesla Improved Parental Controls feature in update 4.57.5

Aligned with the parental-control changes in vehicle update 2026.20, the Tesla app now lets you disable specific vehicle apps.

For selected vehicle profiles, access to the browser, Tesla Theater, and Tesla Arcade can be turned off.

Heat Pump & Accessories Control

Tesla Heat Pump & Accessories Control feature in update 4.57.5

Tesla continues to expand options for solar and Powerwall users to improve energy efficiency.

Recent app language has hinted at smart breaker controls that would let Tesla turn off certain circuit breakers during a power outage, potentially affecting how long backup power lasts. High-usage, non-essential equipment such as electric heaters, pools, and ACs could be configured by the owner to shut off during an outage, allowing Powerwall to extend backup power to the home.

This update adds new phrases that suggest possible integration with a heat pump.

In scenarios like outages, a heat pump could be turned off, or during surplus generation it could run to heat or cool beyond current set temperatures—similar to charging on sunshine—so the home stays comfortable longer instead of sending excess energy back to the grid at low rates.

Some of the new phrases seen in the app include: energy_site_home_controls_heat_pump and energy_site_home_controls_title.

The app text also includes: “Heat Pump” and “Powerwall is encouraging your heat pump to use surplus electricity,” pointing to this integration.

Additional strings indicate a potential Accessories screen that could extend beyond heat pumps to devices like ACs, pool systems, and more.

Smart Charging

Tesla Smart Charging feature in update 4.57.5

Tesla is continuing to refine its upcoming Smart Charging feature, which will enable owners on time-of-day rate plans to automatically charge when electricity prices are lowest.

Changes in this update include the following new text:

“Drag to adjust the pin location on the map. Position the pin where you plan to charge to enable advanced charging features.”

“Your Operational Mode impacts how your system optimizes energy usage. This setting will change how features like Smart Charging on your Wall Connector work.”
