Intel-Based Teslas Receive These Features With the Spring Update (2026.14)

Tesla’s Spring 2026 Software Update (version 2026.14 and later) is rolling out. While the newest AMD Ryzen-powered vehicles receive the most attention, cars equipped with the Intel Atom (MCU2) infotainment unit remain widely used and continue to get updates.
As features become more resource-intensive, a clearer split is emerging between newer and older hardware. This release brings several quality-of-life changes to Intel-based Model 3 and Model Y, and fewer additions to the legacy Intel Model S and Model X, while some of the most graphics-heavy changes stay limited to newer systems.
Self-Driving App
A Self-Driving app that debuted in Europe alongside the approval of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) in the Netherlands provides a dashboard for transparency: subscribe to FSD, watch tutorials, view your FSD usage percentage, track multi-day streaks, and review usage over time in bar charts. This app is not coming to Intel vehicles; it is limited to vehicles with AI4 (Hardware 4) computers.
"Hey Grok" Wake Word
xAI’s assistant is being integrated with a new "Hey Grok" wake word for hands-free queries and location-based reminders, such as "remind me to pick up milk when I'm near home." This capability is not available on Intel vehicles, and Grok is not yet offered on Intel systems.
Pet Mode
Dog Mode has been rebranded as Pet Mode and is rolling out to Intel-based Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y. You can choose a balloon dog, balloon cat, or cyberpunk hedgehog icon, and you can personalize the screen with your pet’s name. From a 2018 Model 3 to a 2026 Cybertruck, your pet can be represented on the center display while you’re away from the vehicle.
High-Fidelity Visual Updates
New, higher-quality parked-vehicle models use Unreal Engine to improve lighting and reflections, creating a studio-like look with fog effects and spotlighting. These visuals are exclusive to AMD-powered vehicles. Intel-based units lack the GPU overhead for these models, so the parked screen on older cars remains unchanged.
Trip Stats and Energy Tracking
A new Trip Stats view replaces cards with more detailed graphs, supports tracking multiple trips, and lets you swipe between "Since Charge" and "Current Drive." This is available on Intel-based Model 3 and Model Y. Legacy Intel Model S and Model X do not receive these Energy app enhancements.
Blind Spot Warning Accent Lights
Ambient lighting strips can turn red to highlight blind-spot conflicts, but this requires hardware not present in older Intel-based vehicles. As a result, this feature is unavailable on Intel models.
Interactive Rear Display Maps
A Maps icon on the rear display opens an independent map that passengers can pan and zoom. On multi-stop trips, the rear map’s route is limited to the next waypoint. This is not coming to Intel-powered Model 3, Model Y, Model S, or Model X that lack rear passenger screens.
Premium Immersive Sound
Redesigned Model 3 and Model Y gain a "Premium Immersive Sound" mode for a more detailed soundstage. This is not available on Intel vehicles and is limited to the new (2024+) Model 3 and the new Model Y.
Sketchpad Improvements
Sketchpad adds stickers and emojis you can drag onto drawings, plus the option to sync sketches to the Tesla mobile app for sharing or offline saving. These upgrades are limited to AMD vehicles. They rely on the same underlying engine as the Photobooth app, which has never been supported on Intel systems, so Intel cars retain the original Sketchpad.
Automatic Software Updates
A new toggle can "Automatically Install Updates" overnight. This is available on Intel-based Model 3 and Model Y but not on legacy Intel Model S and Model X. Once installation starts, the vehicle will be unavailable to drive for about 45 minutes.
Music App Queuing and Gestures
I really love the new queuing system! You can add songs either by swiping right or clicking the 3 dots next to a song pic.twitter.com/sPEzpBJyVU

A new queuing system lets you swipe right on any track in Apple Music or Spotify to add it to the queue. All Intel models (S, 3, X, Y) receive this feature. Apple Music adds a tap-and-hold to add or remove Favorites, while Spotify supports a swipe left to manage Liked Songs.
Dashcam Improvements
The Dashcam buffer expands to 24 hours (up from one hour). You can save any clip from the previous day for permanent storage in the Dashcam Viewer in the App Launcher, and there is now a dedicated Save button within the Viewer. These changes are available on Intel-based Model 3 and Model Y, but not on legacy Intel Model S and Model X.
Weather Maps
Redesigned weather maps use a more vibrant palette and an improved radar that better distinguishes rain from snow. Various precipitation types are represented more clearly, and users can view the past hour of weather history. These updates are rolling out to Intel-based Model 3 and Model Y but are not available on legacy Model S and Model X.
Undocumented Features
Additional tweaks extend broadly across Intel vehicles. A Supercharger pricing filter (in select regions) can route only to chargers that have Tesla pricing and/or accept Free Supercharging credits. Updated keyboard logic syncs dictation language to the selected keyboard. Other refinements include the volume icon showing the active app’s icon (for example, Spotify) when adjusting audio, and Driver Profiles being accessible through the vehicle’s Settings menu.
