Tesla Q3 2026 Consensus: 461,974 Deliveries, 15.9 GWh Storage

Tesla vehicles

As the third quarter closes, Wall Street analysts have finalized their Tesla delivery estimates. Ahead of the official production and delivery update, Tesla compiled and published a sell-side analyst consensus to provide a market benchmark.

The Street projects 461,974 total vehicle deliveries for the third quarter, a modest pullback from last quarter. The consensus aggregates forecasts from 24 financial institutions, including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Barclays. Tesla emphasized these are third-party analyst figures and not official results.

Breaking Down the Numbers

Most volume is expected from Model 3 and Model Y. The remainder comes from the broader lineup, including Cybertruck, initial Semi deliveries, and any remaining Model S and Model X inventory.

Category Q2 2026 (Actual) Q3 2026 (Consensus) Full-Year 2026 (Consensus)
Model 3/Y 467,762 450,712 1,711,728
Other Models 12,364 11,285 55,588
Total Deliveries 480,126 461,974 1,767,255

At 461,974, third-quarter deliveries would reflect a 1.3% quarter-over-quarter decline and a 7% decrease from the record 497,099 vehicles delivered in the same period last year. The full-year 2026 consensus is roughly 1.77 million deliveries, implying expectations for a strong fourth-quarter finish.

Energy Storage Deployment Growth

According to the consensus, energy storage deployments — spanning residential Powerwall systems and commercial Megapack utility projects — are projected to reach 15.9 GWh in the third quarter. That would be up from 13.5 GWh in the second quarter and aligns with a full-year 2026 consensus of 56.5 GWh.

Official Numbers to Come

Sell-side consensus figures often land within a few percentage points of reported results, though larger surprises do occur. In the second quarter, analysts estimated 406,024 deliveries, while Tesla reported 480,126 actual customer handoffs.

Seasonally, Tesla’s first half is typically slower, with deliveries building through the third and fourth quarters. The company is expected to report official third-quarter production and delivery totals on Friday, October 2, followed by financial results later in the month.
