Tesla Opens Surprise Model S Signature Edition Orders in Europe

A limited number of vehicles from the final Model S production run have been reserved for buyers in Europe. Tesla has begun contacting select customers with private invitations to purchase a Model S Signature Edition.

The development surfaced after Christian Dallapozza, a member of a German Tesla community on Facebook, shared details of an invitation from a local sales advisor. As reported by Drive Tesla, these cars are not available through the public configurator; instead, advisors are manually handling allocations due to extremely limited inventory.

What Makes the Signature Edition Special

This European release follows Tesla’s decision to stop taking orders for the Model S and Model X. Shortly afterward, select U.S. customers received special invitations to purchase Signature Edition versions from a final manufacturing run, which concluded with an exclusive delivery event at Tesla’s Fremont factory in California last month.

U.S. communications indicated the final inventory — 250 Model S and 100 Model X Signature Edition units — was sold out, but that guidance appears to have applied to the domestic market. The new European outreach references the Model S Signature Edition specifically, suggesting the Model X allocation is fully spoken for.

The last Model S and Model X builds are Plaid variants featuring collector-focused details: exclusive Garnet Red paint with matching handles, carbon ceramic brakes with gold calipers, gold seat badging with gold piping, and a backlit dashboard plate that reads "1 of 250" (or "1 of 100," for the Model X).

Pricing and Delivery Expectations

Each vehicle is a fully loaded Plaid model with the Luxe Package, which includes non-transferable perks such as free lifetime Supercharging and Full Self-Driving (Supervised). In the U.S., this collector series was priced at $159,420; official European pricing has not been disclosed.

Tesla’s invitation indicates that about 20 units are headed to Europe, approximately 8% of the Model S Signature Edition’s total production run. Deliveries in Europe are expected between July and September. It is unclear whether other international markets will receive similar allocations.
