Watch Replay of Tesla's Cybercab Event

Tesla hosted the Cybercab launch in Austin last night, offering invited attendees rides and an up-close look at the purpose-built Robotaxi. The event followed weeks with little public detail after Tesla confirmed the date and sent invitations.

Tesla did not provide a public livestream or advance notice that there would be none. Viewers around the world waited for an official feed that never appeared, although an internal feed was available to Tesla employees.

Elon Musk did not attend. The presentation was led by senior engineering staff, including Tesla’s VP of AI, Ashok Elluswamy. Despite speculation that Optimus or another unannounced product might appear, the program stayed focused on Cybercab.

What Tesla Shared at the Event

Exhibits highlighted Cybercab’s hardware and engineering, including an integrated Starlink V5 terminal, Supermanifold v3, the drive unit, and the unboxed assembly used for Cybercab.

Another display featured Cybercab’s more capable FSD computer. While exact specifications remain unconfirmed, it has more memory than hardware 4. Tesla is developing its primary FSD models for the Cybercab hardware first before creating reduced versions for HW4.

Attendees were also given Cybercab rides, and Tesla announced that Cybercab would join the Austin Robotaxi fleet the following day. Earlier the same day, Tesla released an updated Robotaxi app with new features and support for Cybercab.

Attendee Herbert Ong recorded the approximately 15-minute keynote from the front row and posted it after the event. If Tesla had streamed the presentation, this is essentially what viewers would have seen. It is not clear whether Elon Musk’s absence influenced the decision not to stream live.
