Tesla Diner Celebrates Turning One With Signed Franz Merch

Tesla’s retro-futuristic drive-in diner Supercharger in Hollywood turns one on Tuesday, July 21, and the location will host a celebration.

The official @tesla_na account announced the first-birthday party on X. Planned highlights include:

One Year of Drive-In Dining

The Tesla Diner first opened in Hollywood on July 21, 2025, quickly becoming a bucket-list stop for owners eager to experience the novel charging station. It combines a true drive-in movie theater vibe with an extensive menu of high-quality, Tesla-themed food, plus collectibles and merchandise available only at the Tesla Diner.

Much of the facility was built from recycled Cybertruck steel, pairing structural engineering with retro aesthetics. Demand at launch was so high that Tesla scaled down the menu about a month after opening to keep pace with the kitchen.

For the anniversary event, roller-skating servers will deliver food from a limited birthday menu through the charging stalls, while the purpose-built Cybercab robotaxi and the Optimus robot are showcased for visitors. On the open-air roof deck, the skypad will host a live DJ set as vehicles below perform a synchronized light show.

Signed Collectibles Up For Grabs

Chief designer Franz von Holzhausen, who led the architectural design of the Tesla Diner, has hand-signed 50 exclusive Diner birthday hats. These black hats feature a neon-style birthday burger with the Tesla Diner logo, Franz's signature, and an individual number out of 50 on the brim. To get one, be among the first 50 to log a food and beverage order of at least $15 from your car after midnight on the eve of July 21.

Although additional locations have been discussed, no new sites have been announced beyond the original after a year. Tesla is still evaluating expansion, with reported candidate locations including SpaceX's hometown of Starbase, Texas, and Palo Alto, California. The anniversary festivities conclude just one day before Tesla’s Q2 2026 earnings call on Wednesday, July 22.
