Format USB Drive

Tesla Format USB Drive feature in update 4.55.7

New strings in the Tesla app indicate that users will be able to format USB drives directly from the app.

Owners can already format a USB drive and view its available space from within the vehicle. Being able to format the drive from a phone would simplify recovery when issues arise away from the vehicle.

Tesla has added phrases such as "Format USB Drive and MOBILE_APP_FEATURE_DELETE_DASHCAM_CLIPS_AND_FORMAT_USB" and added the command "command_name_FORMATUSBACTION".

New Creations Section

Tesla New Creations Section feature in update 4.55.7

With the introduction of Photobooth, Tesla added a Photobooth section at the top level of the app to view saved photo sessions.

With the Spring Update and the update to the Sketchpad app for AMD Ryzen vehicles, Tesla is rebranding the Photobooth section to Creations, which will now contain Photobooth photos and sketches created in Sketchpad.

Within Creations, there are two tabs: one for Photobooth and one for Sketchpad. The functionality is similar, letting you view your saved creations and share them with others.

These creations are stored on the vehicle rather than on Tesla’s servers. Opening this section of the app will wake the vehicle so it can send the requested images.

Note: You’ll need vehicle update 2026.14 and an AMD Ryzen vehicle to see the new Creations section in the app.
