Tesla FSD V14 Lite for HW3 Vehicles Begins Public Rollout

Tesla has begun a public rollout of FSD v14 Lite for older vehicles equipped with Hardware 3 (HW3/AI3), following several weeks of limited testing in the U.S.

Owners who are not part of early access programs have started receiving the update with software version 2026.20.6.10. Owners on X, including @AKJHNSN and @Cmoney365247, shared screenshots as the software arrived on their vehicles.

Bringing FSD v14 to HW3

FSD v14 Lite is a condensed, distilled build of the consumer FSD v14 model tailored to run on Tesla’s memory-constrained HW3 platform. The primary v14 branch is itself a smaller version of self-driving software developed for the Cybercab, which included more memory.

Through extensive optimization, Tesla created a software bridge that brings Hardware 4 (HW4/AI4) features, logic, and driving behaviors to older hardware until physical hardware upgrades can be offered. Because it is derived from a model intended for more powerful hardware, its decision-making remains slower than the main v14 branch, while still being faster than any previous release on HW3.

The rollout gathered pace after a slow start. Tesla first launched FSD v14 Lite late last month, adding features such as the ability to start FSD (Supervised) from Park, Arrival Options, Speed Profiles, and more. It initially reached a limited group of early access testers before the deployment paused.

Earlier this week, Tesla released an updated FSD v14 Lite build with major UI improvements and capabilities left out of the original release, including optional brake confirm and the Self-Driving app.

From Executive Confirmation to Public Driveways

The updated FSD v14 Lite build first went to early access testers. On Monday, Tesla AI chief Ashok Elluswamy said this version of FSD v14 Lite would likely go wide, and the rollout expanded to standard customer vehicles in less than 24 hours.

With public HW3 owners now receiving FSD v14 Lite on software version 2026.20.6.10, the over-the-air deployment is expected to broaden over the coming days. The original FSD v14 Lite release already went international earlier this month in South Korea, but there is no timing yet for when this updated build will reach other countries.
