Tesla FSD (Supervised) Approved in Slovenia, Launching Soon

Tesla’s rollout of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) in Europe is regaining momentum after a two-month pause in new market approvals. Slovenia has become the sixth European country to authorize the advanced driver-assistance system for use on public roads.

The confirmation came from Tesla’s European division on X, where the @teslaeurope account stated that FSD (Supervised) has been approved in Slovenia and that a formal rollout will begin soon.

This is the first new European market to be added since early June, further widening the system’s active presence across the continent.

Expanding the European Roster

Slovenia’s approval follows the regulatory path established earlier this spring when the Netherlands became the first European country to approve FSD, with the Dutch vehicle authority (RDW) issuing a type approval that other EU members can adopt.

Subsequent recognitions quickly accumulated. After Lithuania welcomed FSD and Estonia approved it for public roads, the pace increased as Denmark officially joined in June. A day later, Belgium was added, bringing the total to five before Slovenia.

With Slovenia now the sixth, momentum could spur additional approvals. South of the Alps, FSD is inching closer to regulatory approval in Italy, and Slovenia’s decision may encourage Italian authorities to finalize their framework. Here’s a quick snapshot of FSD’s current global footprint:

European owners are also receiving software updates, with Tesla recently rolling out the Summer Update to FSD vehicles in the region.

Opposition Ahead of the EU-Wide Vote

Despite growing country-by-country approvals, securing EU-wide authorization remains difficult. A formal vote on FSD is expected later this fall, and several influential members are still wary.

France and Sweden have raised questions about speed management. Sweden urged the EU to reject Tesla FSD over speeding concerns, noting that the manual “Speed Offset” setting and “dynamic Speed Profiles” can allow vehicles to exceed statutory limits. France has voiced similar concerns.

To achieve a unified rollout across all 27 EU nations, Tesla will need to address regulators’ requirements for strict adherence to speed limits. Until then, national approvals like Slovenia’s will continue expanding access and adding more real-world driving data.
