Tesla Space box works great. Perfectly integrated and controllable through in my central model S touch screen. No audio/video sync issues. Took a bit of time to set it up (Tesla hubs: please make a better video for this!) but well worth the effort and patience. Great value cost wise too.
The Space Box is lightweight, quick to install, and works without any problems. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to hear any sound yet—for example, the radio, etc. So far, though, I’m very satisfied.

Questions, answered
Will official CarPlay replace Space Box?
It might for some drivers. If you only need iPhone CarPlay and Tesla supports your car, the official version may be enough. Space Box also supports Android Auto and adds streaming.
Does Space Box work with Android phones?
Yes. The product page lists wireless Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay.
Can I watch Netflix while driving?
No. Use Netflix and YouTube only when parked.
Why do most CarPlay dongles not work in a Tesla?
They convert a wired CarPlay connection to wireless, and a Tesla has no factory CarPlay connection to convert.
