Tesla Update 2026.14 — The Undocumented Changes

Most owners without FSD have already received the Spring Update (2026.14). Vehicles on FSD v14.3.2 are expected to get it soon because Tesla announced update 2026.14.6.6, which merges the latest FSD version with the Spring Update.

The Spring Update was substantial, adding new energy graphs, blind spot warning, Hey Grok, Unreal Engine, larger dock icons, and more. It also delivered many unlisted tweaks — 19 in total. Below are the changes that weren’t in the release notes.

Cloud Profiles

Cloud-based driver profiles now show a cloud icon so they’re clearly distinguished from profiles stored only on the vehicle.

Amber Brake Lights

The visualization now renders vehicles with amber turn signals correctly. In regions where indicators must be orange/amber, the display no longer shows them as red. With Unreal Engine, lighting in the visualization is also improved, making brake lights more prominent as they reflect on the road surface.

Parental Controls Improvement

Parental controls help protect new drivers by limiting acceleration, capping top speed, and locking safety features on. For Performance vehicles, enabling Require Safety Features now also restricts Track Mode, preventing teens from altering handling, braking, and more. Tesla will soon support blocking certain apps as part of Parental Controls as well.

Require Safety Features prevents these features from being turned off:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Obstacle-Aware Acceleration
  • Automatic Blind Spot Camera
  • Blind Spot Collision Warning Chime
  • Automatic 911 Call (US only)
  • Allow Mobile Access
  • Park Assist Chimes

It also prevents these settings from being changed:

  • Track Mode is disabled
  • Lane Departure Avoidance is set to Assist
  • Speed Limit Warning set to Chime
    • Speed Limit set to relative
    • Offset set to +5 mph (8 km/h)
  • Forward Collision Warning set to Early

Increased Attention Monitoring Alert

A new alert reports poor camera visibility and notes that it results in increased attention monitoring.

Grok Turns Off After Inactivity

With the addition of the "Hey Grok" wake word, Grok no longer stays open indefinitely after activation. To reduce accidental triggers and background processing, the assistant now dismisses itself after approximately 15 seconds of inactivity.

This applies whether you use the voice wake word or the steering wheel button. You can still close it with natural language; saying "goodbye" or "talk to you later" will close Grok immediately.

Grok Favorites

The integrated Grok assistant can now access your saved favorites and understand your custom labels. For instance, if an address is saved as "Kim’s parents," you can say, "Hey Grok, navigate to “Kim’s parents," and it will pull the correct destination from your favorites.

Advanced Software Updates

The Software Update Preference has been simplified to an on/off toggle for Advanced updates. Turning it on opts you in to receive the latest releases as soon as they are available for your vehicle configuration and region, which may mean more frequent updates or minor bugs. Leaving it off waits for a wider release.

Re-Order Trip Meters

You can rearrange the new trip meters by pressing and holding until they jiggle, then dragging them into position. You can also tap the energy graph in the top-right to open a larger, more detailed view.

Chromium Browser Updated

The in-vehicle browser, which is based on Chromium, has been upgraded to version 140 (from 136). This improves compatibility with modern web standards, enhances WebGPU performance, and fixes known issues.

Save Recent Dashcam Videos

Following an earlier change that surfaced recent non-saved clips at the top of Dashcam Viewer, you can now save recent clips that are still on the USB drive but not yet protected from deletion.

Volume Icons

When changing an app’s volume (for example, Spotify), the volume icon now shows that app’s icon. This does not add per-app volume controls; the same volume level applies to Spotify, YouTube, and other apps. The icon simply clarifies which source you’re adjusting. Navigation volume remains separate with its own icon and setting.

Driver Profiles

Driver profiles are now accessible in vehicle settings in addition to the Profiles icon in the status bar. Go to Controls > Profiles to view profile settings.

Grok Settings

Grok settings now also appear under Controls in the Audio section. They mirror the options available in the Grok app and are duplicated here for easier discovery.

Euro Semi Visualization

Autopilot/FSD visualizations now include cab-over-engine style semi trucks commonly seen in Europe.

New 'All Apps' Icon

The dock’s ‘All Apps’ icon has been redesigned to resemble an iOS-style folder showing four apps. It isn’t static—the displayed apps change, likely reflecting your most recent or most used apps that aren’t in the dock.

Larger Dock Icons

Alongside the new ‘All Apps’ icon, all dock icons are larger. The dock itself appears to be the same size.

Animated Badges

Models with special badges, such as the Ludicrous badge on the Performance Model 3, now show an animation in the Software menu. Tapping the badge replays the animation.

New Creations Section

The previous Photobooth section in the mobile app has been rebranded to Creations, and now includes Photobooth sessions and sketches created in Sketchpad on AMD Ryzen vehicles. Inside Creations, there are two tabs—Photobooth and Sketchpad—with similar functionality to view and share your saved items.

Creations are stored on the vehicle, not on Tesla’s servers, so opening this section wakes the car to send the images.

Note: You’ll need vehicle update 2026.14 and an AMD Ryzen vehicle to see this new Creations section in the app.

Service Mode Improvements

Independent repairers can now authenticate for Service Mode Plus by scanning a QR code shown on the vehicle and signing in with Toolbox credentials. Models: All vehicles

A Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) indicator has been added next to the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the bottom Service Mode banner. The indicator is visible when DCs are present on the vehicle. Models: All vehicles

The Noise Recording panel now supports Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) microphone recording. When ANC mode is enabled, the panel shows ANC microphone locations and extends the recording duration to 3 minutes. Models: Model S (2021+), Model X (2021+), Cybertruck

The Vehicle Functions panel is now available in Service Mode. It provides an overview of degraded functions and their associated alerts. Full functionality, including detailed functions, history, and advanced controls, remains exclusive to Service Mode Plus. Models: Model 3, Model Y

A new Bluetooth panel under Infotainment assists with Bluetooth diagnostics, displaying the status of the main and rear Bluetooth modules (where equipped), connection states, signal strength with health indicators, and connected device details. Models: Model S (2021+), Model 3, Model X (2021+), Model Y, Cybertruck

Next Update

Tesla hasn’t said what’s coming next, but the likely follow-up is a smaller release numbered 2026.20. If you’re on FSD v14.3.2, the wait to get the features from 2026.14 shouldn’t be much longer.
