Tesla Adds Bookmark Syncing, Larger Content, Full-Screen Video and Cam

Tesla’s 2026.26 Summer Update enhances the in-car browser with microphone and camera access for video calls on services like Microsoft Teams, Discord, and Slack, plus bookmark syncing and a higher default zoom that enlarges on-page content.

Camera and Microphone Access

Websites can now request access to the vehicle’s cabin microphone and interior camera through the Tesla browser. The camera remains available only when the vehicle is parked, and an on-screen prompt lets the user approve or reject each request.

This enables browser-based video calls with services such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Discord, Slack, and more. The video feed is automatically cropped to focus on the person in the driver’s seat.

Previously, Zoom was the only service allowed to use the interior camera; however, Zoom was only a borderless browser, and the capability now works with any web platform.

This feature is limited to AMD Ryzen vehicles due to their more powerful infotainment chip.

Browser Bookmark Sync

The update adds the ability to sync Tesla browser bookmarks across vehicles. Saved sites can appear in another Tesla using the same profile, including another personally owned vehicle, a rental, or a Tesla loaner.

Favorites and frequently visited sites that show on the new tab page are saved per driver profile. Bookmark syncing happens automatically when using a Tesla Profile.

Browser Zoom

The Tesla browser, although based on Chromium, does not support manually adjusting the zoom level. With the Summer Update, the default zoom level has increased, making items such as frequently visited site icons appear larger.

This change enlarges images and text on any site, but it can also cause responsive websites such as X and YouTube to load tablet- or mobile-style layouts because the available webpage area appears narrower.

More Tesla Theater Support

The update adds support for full-screen playback on several video streaming sites. The browser now goes full-screen when you visit certain streaming websites, including HBO Max, Prime Video, and more.

This effectively increases support for Tesla Theater, though you still can’t play these video services on the rear screen without a workaround.

Tesla likely also updated the underlying Chromium version of the browser, which fixes bugs and brings support for newer HTML standards.

Overall, the 2026.26 Summer Update brings microphone and camera access, bookmark syncing, a higher default zoom, and broader full-screen video support to the in-car browser.
