Tesla Powerwall

Tesla has finalized a new distribution agreement in Australia with Supply Partners Group, expanding access to its home battery systems for local installers and homeowners.

The partnership, announced by Supply Partners, includes inventory expected to arrive in warehouses by late February, with official sales beginning in mid-March 2026. Lliam Ricketts, Co-Founder and Director of Innovation at Supply Partners Group, said, "Tesla sets a high bar, and we’ve worked hard to earn the opportunity to represent a brand that customers actively ask for."

What is Powerwall?

Powerwall is an integrated battery system that stores solar energy for backup protection, keeping lights, appliances, and Wi-Fi on even if the grid goes down.

The current flagship model, Powerwall 3, maintains the same 13.5 kWh energy capacity as the previous generation and delivers 11.5 kW of continuous power. It also includes a built-in solar inverter that supports up to six solar inputs, simplifying installation for new solar setups. While Australia is currently focused on these standard units, Tesla recently launched Powerwall 3P, a three-phase variant specifically designed for European electrical grids.

A Bright Spot for Tesla Energy

While the company’s automotive division often draws attention, Tesla Energy has been a massive bright spot for the bottom line, posting record sales quarter after quarter. Australia has emerged as one of its largest and most consistent markets alongside the U.S.

Market conditions in Australia—sharper pricing and consumer rebates—make the timing of this distribution deal favorable. "Powerwall is already a category-defining product, and what’s ahead makes it even more compelling," Ricketts added. Partnering with a national distributor like Supply Partners provides a reliable logistics network and in-country technical support for the hardware.

With official availability through Supply Partners starting in just a few weeks, more of these units are expected to appear in Australian neighborhoods.
