Tesla Reveals Cybercab Event Location and How to Enter Without a Robotaxi Ride

Tesla has shared additional information about its upcoming Cybercab launch, confirming the event will be held in Austin, Texas. The company is also hosting a sweepstakes that will award five invitations. While the exact date has not been announced, the contest timeline points to a launch in late August or early September.

Cybercab launch set for Austin

An official event page confirms the Cybercab launch will take place in Austin. That aligns with earlier expectations, as Austin is home to Tesla’s Robotaxi operations and the Texas Gigafactory.

The sweepstakes runs through August 23, with winners selected and notified on August 25. This schedule suggests the event may follow shortly afterward, likely in late August or early September, though the company has not confirmed this window.

How to enter the Cybercab sweepstakes

The simplest way to enter is through the Robotaxi service. Eligible riders receive one sweepstakes entry for every completed Robotaxi ride taken between August 17 and August 23. Canceled rides do not count, and there is no limit on the number of entries.

Enter without a Robotaxi ride

Tesla is also offering a free mail-in entry method, so you don’t need a paid Robotaxi ride to participate. The sweepstakes is open to eligible U.S. residents who meet the age requirements: a minimum of 18 years old, unless you’re in Alabama or Nebraska (then it’s 19), and in Mississippi it’s 21.

Tesla will randomly select five winners on August 25th. Each winner receives the right to attend the Cybercab launch event, but transportation to Austin is not included. Winners will also receive event items valued at $25.
