Tesla is unveiling its high-volume electric truck manufacturing lines today during a dedicated Semi Rollout event at its factory in Sparks, Nevada.

Invitations for the presentation went out earlier this month, drawing fleet operators, investors, and logistics partners to see the commercial freight platform enter large-scale manufacturing.

The 1.7 million-square-foot dedicated Semi plant is designed to eventually scale up to 50,000 trucks annually. The facility is online and will supply trucks for both domestic routes and overseas deliveries.

A Refresher on the Refreshed Semi

Tesla originally unveiled the Semi concept in late 2017, with customer deliveries limited to small pilot programs starting in late 2022. Momentum accelerated last fall when Tesla introduced the refreshed Semi in Standard Range and Long Range configurations, followed by the first production units rolling off new lines in Nevada earlier this spring.

The new Semi includes exterior updates such as a reprofiled front light bar reminiscent of the Model Y, improved mirrors, and upgraded steering actuators. Its heavy-duty electronics enable connection to Megacharger stations capable of up to 1.2 MW of DC fast charging, allowing drivers to recover up to 60% range during a 30-minute rest break.
