Tesla Offers Free Supercharging to All EVs for Europe Wildfire Relief

As wildfires continue across parts of southwestern Europe, Tesla is making select Supercharger sites free to use so affected residents and evacuees can charge their vehicles.

In a post on X, @TeslaCharging said free Supercharging will be offered for wildfire relief at select locations in France and Spain. Charging at these stations will be free for all EVs — including non-Tesla vehicles — from midnight on July 29 through midnight on August 5.

Supporting Disaster Relief Efforts

Recent heatwaves have sparked damaging wildfires in southern France and Spain, prompting evacuations and straining local infrastructure. Opening high-speed charging sites helps electric-vehicle drivers evacuate, reach emergency services, or relocate without concerns about access or cost.

Tesla also recently refunded incorrect Supercharger fees after a system glitch temporarily charged higher rates at some locations.

As Tesla’s global Supercharger network crosses 80,000 stalls, the widespread presence of large hubs across Europe provides an important resource during regional emergencies.

The free-charging offer applies to all electric vehicles at these nine sites in France and Spain:

• Castellón, Spain: 57 Partida Bovalar, Castellón de la Plana, Comunidad Valenciana
• Sagunto, Spain: s/n Carrer Moreres, Sagunto
• Fuenlabrada, Spain (Service Center): 10 Calle Almendro, Fuenlabrada, Comunidad de Madrid
• Majadahonda, Spain: 2 C.C. Gran Plaza 2, C. de los Químicos, Majadahonda, Comunidad de Madrid

Drivers moving through affected areas can navigate to these sites using their vehicle display, the Tesla app, or Google Maps and charge at no cost until August 5.

This action highlights the benefits of a wide-spanning, centrally managed charging network. Tesla is expected to continue monitoring local conditions across the region and could expand relief efforts if wildfires continue to spread.
