Tesla Adds 16-Inch Screen To Model 3/Y In North America, 0-60 In 3.8s

After a recent production refresh at Gigafactory Shanghai, Tesla is rolling out similar updates in North America. Shoppers configuring a Model 3 or Model Y in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Mexico will now see larger center displays, quicker acceleration for select trims, and a few design changes in the configurator.
North American Model 3 builds do not add Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) yet, but Tesla has announced other updates that standardize display hardware across the lineup and improve dual‑motor performance on certain versions.
Model 3: 16" Center Display And Quicker Acceleration
All Model 3 trims in North America now ship with a 16-inch center touchscreen, replacing the previous 15.4-inch panel.

The new screen matches the unit first introduced on the Model Y and brings a higher-resolution panel. The 15.4-inch display is now phased out across the passenger lineup.
| Spec | Old Display | New Display |
|---|---|---|
| Size | 15.4” | 16” |
| Resolution | 1920×1200 (just over Full HD/1080P) | 2560×1440 (QHD/1440P) |
| Screen Ratio | 16:10 | 16:9 |
| Display Width | 13.06” | 13.95” |
| Display Height | 8.16” | 7.84” |
| Screen Area | 106.59 inches² | 109.39 inches² |
The all‑black roof liner is now standard on the Model 3 Performance. Base and Premium trims continue with the light gray headliner.

The optional 19-inch Nova wheels now use a darker gray finish instead of silver. Performance changes vary by trim:
- Model 3 Premium AWD: 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds, down from 4.2 seconds.
- Model 3 Performance: Peak output rises roughly 3% to 528 horsepower, and range increases to 316 miles (a 2.3% gain over the previous 309-mile rating).
Unlike recent changes at Giga Shanghai, North American Model 3 variants are not adding the “Zen Gray” interior. The “Black and White” color scheme remains available.
Model Y: Faster 0-60 mph
The Model Y Premium AWD now accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, improved from 4.6 seconds.
In terms of interiors, the new “Zen Gray” option in North America remains exclusive to the three‑row Model Y L. Other Model Y builds continue to offer All Black and “Black and White” interiors.

Asian and European factories have already retired white seats in favor of “Zen Gray.”
