EVgo Launches First 12-Stall Tesla Supercharger Site in Chicago

EVgo has opened its first Tesla Supercharger location. According to an EVgo press release, the new “EVgo Supercharger” station near downtown Chicago includes 12 stalls and is the first of hundreds the company plans to roll out across the U.S.
“By serving both Tesla and non-Tesla NACS drivers, we’re doubling EVgo’s addressable market and continuing to meet EV drivers where they are and where they want to charge,” said EVgo CEO Badar Khan.
V4 Superchargers With Magic Dock
EVgo first announced plans to install Tesla’s V4 Superchargers back in August through Tesla’s Supercharger for Business program. EVgo was the first third-party charging network to participate. Under the arrangement, EVgo purchases the hardware, applies its own branding, and retains the revenue, while Tesla manages and maintains the sites for a fee with a 97% uptime guarantee.

The stalls deliver up to 500 kW at up to 1,000 volts and include Magic Dock, enabling both NACS and CCS vehicles to charge without an adapter. Longer V4 cables help reach charge ports located in different positions.
Initial sites are at grocery-anchored shopping centers owned by Regency Centers, a longtime EVgo partner, allowing drivers to shop or grab food while charging.
Easier to Find for Tesla Drivers
EVgo Superchargers appear in Tesla’s Trip Planner and in-car navigation, similar to Tesla’s own Superchargers. Since early September, Tesla drivers who enable third-party chargers in their navigation can also see additional EVgo locations with NACS stalls.
EVgo was the first public charging network to offer a Tesla connector, and in 2022 it added Autocharge+ support for CCS-equipped Teslas, letting owners plug in and charge without swiping a card.
More NACS Stalls Coming
EVgo began adding NACS connectors to its own chargers in 2025 and expects to have 500 NACS stalls nationwide by the end of this year, in addition to its Superchargers. It plans to equip all sites built in 2023 or later with a NACS connector within the next two years.
The company has not disclosed where or when its next Supercharger sites will open, but with hundreds more planned, Tesla owners should start seeing more EVgo pins in their navigation soon.
