Space Box reviews: what buyers actually report
Five verified Trustpilot reviews, including the two that mark us down. The complaints are the useful part — they tell you exactly what to expect before you order.
In short
Buyers agree on three things: it integrates cleanly with the Tesla screen, audio and video stay in sync, and shipping is fast. They disagree on setup — for most it takes five minutes, for some it takes patience.
Two recurring complaints, both real: the phone sometimes grabs the Bluetooth connection instead of the box, and while the device holds the car's Wi-Fi, the Tesla may not pull its own cellular data for routing and traffic. Neither is a defect; both are inherent to how CarPlay works in a Tesla.
What buyers consistently praise
"Tesla Space box works great. Perfectly integrated and controllable through in my central model S touch screen. No audio/video sync issues. Took a bit of time to set it up but well worth the effort and patience. Great value cost wise too."
Integration and sync are the two things hardest to fake, and both check out on a Model S. He also asked for a better setup video — a fair hit, and the step-by-step guide is the answer to it.
"The product was super to install and it works fantastic and the price was great as well."
For most buyers the install genuinely is the five-minute version.
"Good quality items and fast shipping!"

What buyers complain about
Both four-star reviews below describe the same class of problem. We have left them in full, and answered each one.
"A little finicky on the blue tooth portion sometimes, but overall, excellent!!"
The phone and the Space Box compete for the same Bluetooth slot. Set the Space Box as the primary Bluetooth connection once, during setup, and audio routes through it from then on. If sound comes out of the phone instead of the car, switch the source back in the Tesla's Bluetooth settings — it takes one tap.
"Works as intended." Josh reports the product arrived faster than expected and installed easily using the YouTube video. His two criticisms: the phone occasionally grabs the Bluetooth connection directly and has to be switched back, and because the vehicle's Wi-Fi is connected to the box, the car does not pull cellular data for its own routing and traffic. He also wanted documentation for the box's additional software options.
The Wi-Fi conflict is real and unavoidable. Every browser-based CarPlay device for Tesla holds the car's Wi-Fi while active, which means the vehicle may not reach cellular data for its own maps, traffic and Spotify if you have Premium Connectivity. You use the CarPlay versions instead. If you rely on Tesla's native navigation specifically, weigh this before ordering.
The documentation gap is a fair criticism. The box has more software options than the printed guide covers. That is being addressed.
The processor check takes 30 seconds and prevents most returns.
