After recent sightings of the Cybercab and unsupervised Robotaxis in Austin, and the rollout of new cleaning policies, Tesla is moving to make its Robotaxi service more widely understood and accessible.

Tesla has published an updated Robotaxi website that includes a new Get Started guide and a support section. The pages give more detail about how rides will work for customers in Austin, covering operating hours and what riders should expect inside the vehicle.

The site does not mention the Bay Area, where Tesla’s supervised Robotaxi service is still operating.

Getting Started

For now, Tesla is using the Model Y as the operational robotaxi while the purpose-built Cybercab remains in development. The new site confirms that autonomous Robotaxi rides with the Model Y are available in Austin today.

Prospective riders are instructed to download the Robotaxi app to begin, or to sign up for updates to be notified when the service expands to additional locations.

Accessibility

The updated pages emphasize inclusivity. Tesla says its Robotaxi program is being designed to accommodate a range of accessibility needs, including space for service animals and room to stow some mobility devices.

Dedicated vehicle types intended to better support accessibility — such as the Robovan — have been discussed previously as part of future plans. Meanwhile, the current Austin fleet already includes support for some wheelchairs and assistive devices as well as service animals.

Global Rollout

Looking ahead, Tesla notes the Robotaxi app is available in 29 languages, with additional language support planned to help enable future international expansion.
