Tesla is notifying vehicle owners in Australia and New Zealand about the status of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) v14, confirming that a public release in the region is approaching. As noted by longtime Tesla watcher @SawyerMerritt, the email is being sent to owners of Hardware 4 (HW4) vehicles.
"FSD (Supervised) v14 for Hardware 4 vehicles is in its final stages of local development and testing. This release represents a meaningful step forward in performance and capability, and we want to ensure your experience reflects that from the moment it's available on your vehicle,”

Ramping Up Global Version Parity
This rollout marks a significant software transition for the region. Tesla’s update arrives just under a year after it first launched FSD (Supervised) in the Oceanic markets, releasing FSD v13 to HW4-equipped cars.
FSD v14 debuted in the U.S. soon after, and South Korea became the first country outside North America to get the newer version when it approved the system for public use last fall. Several other markets that have gotten access to FSD since, including the most recent ones in the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Estonia (rollout pending), have hopped directly onto FSD v14. Meanwhile, international markets like China, Australia, and New Zealand that have had FSD for much longer are still stuck on v13. The gears are now turning to sync these fleets up to the latest main software branch.

Recent updates Tesla made to its Chinese owner's manual and website indicate that it is preparing a wider public launch for FSD in the country, underpinned by version 14 — albeit with a different name. This latest communication confirms that Australia and New Zealand aren't far from getting FSD v14 either, so it looks like Tesla is ramping up efforts to establish version parity between FSD users around the world as global expansion continues to pick up pace.
What This Means for Hardware 3 Owners
While FSD v14 is currently exclusive to HW4 builds globally, older vehicles won’t be left behind forever. Tesla is currently developing FSD v14 Lite, a specialized, distilled version optimized for HW3 computers that delivers the same features and functionality as the full build. It is expected to launch sometime this summer, potentially as early as this month.
Tesla has confirmed that FSD v14 Lite will expand internationally, so HW3 owners in Australia, New Zealand, and other global markets will start getting it once the software begins its global deployment phase.
For HW4 owners currently waiting on the update, Tesla noted that while they don’t have a confirmed launch date to share just yet, their team is actively pushing development forward. Eligible owners will receive system notifications on the Tesla mobile app and inside their vehicles as soon as FSD v14 becomes available for installation.
