Tesla has ended its limited-time introductory pricing on its most affordable pickup. After less than 10 days at launch pricing, the company increased the price of the Cybertruck Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) from $59,990 to $69,990.
The update appeared on Tesla’s online configurator, aligning with Elon Musk’s earlier signal that the sub-$60k launch price was a temporary incentive. The new $69,990 price matches the short-lived Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) Cybertruck that was launched and then discontinued last year, while the Dual Motor version remains far more capable for the cost.
The "Ultimate Contractor" Pickup
Despite the $10,000 increase, this AWD trim is a substantial upgrade over the RWD model it replaced, emphasizing utility over luxury. It retains the same mechanical front and rear locking differentials used in the $79,990 Premium AWD trim.
Performance and range are unchanged, with a 4.1-second 0–60 mph time and an EPA-estimated 325 miles. Key utility features also carry over, including a powered tonneau cover, a powered frunk, and a 6’ x 4’ composite bed. It also keeps full Powershare capability with 120V and 240V outlets in the bed for running heavy-duty power tools.
To reach a lower price point, Tesla replaced the adaptive air suspension with coil springs featuring adaptive damping, removing adjustable ride height. The interior uses a "tactical grey" textile instead of vegan leather. Other omitted amenities include ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a 9.4-inch rear entertainment display, and the 15-speaker premium audio system, which is reduced to 7 speakers.
Estimated Deliveries Slip Into 2027
When the $59,990 price debuted, estimated delivery windows were May–June 2026. The configurator now indicates new orders are pushed deep into 2027.
Many buyers likely placed $250 non-refundable orders ahead of the February 28 deadline to secure the lower price, a surge that dispels speculation that the entry-level trim might be discontinued due to weak demand.
Future Pricing and Potential RWD Trims
With the base AWD now starting at $69,990 and the Premium AWD at $79,990, the lineup is becoming more standardized. The return to roughly $70,000 leaves an opening at the lower end, and Tesla could eventually introduce a more stripped-down RWD configuration below $60k once production at Giga Texas ramps and the current backlog is reduced.
Whether you secured the "early bird" price or are considering the $70k entry point now, the Dual Motor AWD is the variant currently reinvigorating Cybertruck orders.
