Released February 8, 2026
This major over-the-air update — timed for the Lunar New Year in China — delivers headline features like the brand-new Automations app, hands-free "Hey Tesla" voice activation, and a significantly enhanced Dashcam experience, alongside a long list of quality-of-life refinements.
New Features
Automation App

Tesla now lets you build your own custom workflows with the all-new Automations app. You can set up event-based triggers paired with specific conditions to execute automatic actions. For instance, you could configure your vehicle to open the trunk whenever it arrives at your home address on a weekend.
Access it via App Launcher > Automation.
Hey Tesla

Voice commands can now be triggered simply by saying "Hey Tesla," eliminating the need to press a button on the steering wheel or touchscreen. This hands-free wake word makes it faster and more convenient to control navigation, climate, media, and more while driving.
Enable it under Controls > Voice panel.
Dashcam Recent Footage Duration

The Dashcam now intelligently adapts the length of recent footage it retains based on the capacity of your USB drive. Smaller drives will store roughly one hour of rolling footage, while drives of 1 TB or more can hold up to 24 hours — ensuring you always have the maximum amount of reviewable video before it gets overwritten.
Finding Superchargers

When multiple Supercharger stations are close together, the map now groups them into clusters. Tapping on a cluster smoothly zooms in to reveal the individual stations, making it much easier to locate chargers in dense urban areas.
Nearby Parking

A new "Nearby Parking" option appears on any point-of-interest page, giving you one-tap directions to the closest parking facilities so you can start your journey without the hassle of searching for a spot.
Paint Shop

Customize your on-screen Tesla avatar with window tints, custom wraps, and personalized license plates. Choose from a library of preloaded designs or upload your own creations via a USB flash drive to give your digital vehicle a truly unique look.
Go to App Launcher > Toybox > Paint Shop, or tap the paint button in Controls > Software.
Weixin Connection

You can now send a location directly from Weixin (WeChat) to your Tesla. Navigate to the Search Box > Mobile, select Activate, and follow the on-screen prompts on your phone. Once linked, addresses shared in Weixin will appear in your vehicle's navigation automatically. Premium Connectivity is required.
Dog Mode Live Activity on iOS

Pet owners can now monitor cabin conditions in real time from their iPhone. When Dog Mode is active, a Live Activity widget displays live temperature and climate status updates right on your lock screen or Dynamic Island. Requires Tesla App version 4.51.5 or later.
QQ Music Sing-Along Mode

Turn your Tesla cabin into a private karaoke room with QQ Music's new Sing-Along Mode. You can adjust the balance between the vocal track and the instrumental backing to suit your singing style.
Go to App Launcher > QQ Music. Requires Premium Connectivity or Wi-Fi.
Lyrics View Refresh

The lyrics display for NetEase, QQ Music, and KuGou Music has been refreshed with cleaner styling and smoother animations. Supported tracks on NetEase now feature word-by-word highlighting that follows along as the song plays.
KuGou Music

KuGou Music is now available natively on your Tesla's touchscreen. Enjoy Daily Picks, AI-curated Playlists, and VIP Radar recommendations on every drive.
Go to App Launcher > KuGou Music. Requires Premium Connectivity or Wi-Fi.
Dashcam Viewer Update

Dashcam clips now overlay additional telemetry data during playback, including vehicle speed, steering wheel angle, and the current self-driving state. This extra context makes it much easier to review incidents or interesting moments directly on the vehicle's display.
Tesla Photobooth

Your Tesla doubles as a photobooth! Snap selfies using the cabin camera and apply fun filters, stickers, and emojis before sharing the results with friends and family through the Tesla App. The vehicle must be in Park. Requires Tesla App version 4.51.5 or later.
Go to App Launcher > Toybox > Photobooth.
Santa Mode Updates

Spread holiday cheer any time of year with an enhanced Santa Mode. The updated experience now features festive snowmen, decorated trees, a seasonal lock chime, and immersive 3D snow effects on the display.
Go to App Launcher > Toybox > Santa.
Light Show Update — Jingle Rush

The latest built-in Light Show, "Jingle Rush," is ready to dazzle. Play it instantly or schedule it up to 10 minutes ahead — even syncing across multiple vehicles. Power users can now control interior lighting, add display color effects, and create longer custom shows by saving files to a "LightShow" folder on a USB drive.
Start from the Tesla App or go to App Launcher > Toybox > Light Show.
Navigation Improvements

Navigation favorites can now be reordered to your preference. You can also set your Home or Work location by simply dropping a pin anywhere on the map, and the system will suggest destinations based on your recent trips and driving habits.
Phone Left Behind

If you accidentally leave your phone inside the cabin — whether on the wireless charger or detected as a phone key — the vehicle will chime a few seconds after the doors close and no occupants are detected. UWB-supported devices are required for phone key detection.
Enable at Controls > Locks > Phone Left Behind Chime.
Save Charge Limit by Location

You can now save a specific charge limit for your current location while parked. The next time you plug in at that same spot, the saved limit will be applied automatically — perfect for setting different targets at home versus the office.
Go to Controls > Charging.
SpaceX Docking Simulator

Channel your inner astronaut with this 3D docking simulator. Guide a spacecraft to the International Space Station using controls modeled after the real interfaces used by NASA astronauts. It replaces the now-removed Boomerang Fu game in the Arcade.
Shift into Park and go to App Launcher > Arcade > SpaceX.
Minor Updates

- Choose "Exclude Home" when Cabin Overheat Protection or No A/C is enabled.
- Enable or disable wireless phone charging pads in Controls > Charging.
- Receive a mobile alert if any cabin door is left open while Dog Mode is active.
- Rainbow accent light colors during Rave Cave that sync with your music beats.
- New "Light Cycle" lock sound from Tron Mode in Boombox.
- Option to share charging data with Tesla to support Charge Stats in the app.
Undocumented Changes
New Wheel Options

The new wheel designs originally exclusive to the Standard Model 3 and Model Y are now available for all vehicles to equip in the on-screen visualization. The 18" Prismata (Model 3) and 18" Aperture wheels can be selected for any model under Controls > Service > Tires and Wheels.
Express Lanes

Tesla has introduced support for Express Lanes in certain vehicles. Similar to HOV or toll roads, these faster lanes may charge fees based on occupancy, vehicle type, and time of day. A new toggle in navigation settings lets you include or exclude Express Lanes from your route. This feature may still be in testing and is not yet available on all vehicles.
Supercharger Live Maps Shows Exact Models

The real-time 3D Supercharger site maps now display the exact vehicle model charging at each stall — whether it is an original Model Y, the refreshed Model Y, a Cybertruck, or even a non-Tesla vehicle. This makes it easy to see which stalls are open, their locations, handicap accessibility, and whether pull-through stalls are available.
Dashcam Viewer Zoom Support

While reviewing footage in the Dashcam Viewer, you can now pinch to zoom in on any part of the video. Once zoomed, panning is also supported so you can inspect different areas of the frame. This feature requires vehicles equipped with Tesla's AMD Ryzen infotainment processor.
Camera Visibility Warning Improvement

When a camera's view is obstructed, the warning now clearly labels which camera is affected — for example, "Front" for the windshield camera or "Fascia" for the front bumper camera. The label is overlaid on a live photo from the camera, so you know exactly which lens needs cleaning.
V4 Supercharger Visualization

Tesla's on-screen charging visualizations already included unique graphics for the Mobile Connector, Wall Connector, V2 and V3 Superchargers, and third-party chargers. Notably missing was the newer V4 Supercharger design — until now. This update adds a dedicated V4 Supercharger visualization to complete the set.
Wrap & License Plate Icons

Quick-access icons for vehicle wraps and license plate options now appear under Controls > Software, directly beneath the vehicle visualization. A wrapping-paper icon replaces the old colored square and takes you straight to the vehicle customization options.
Car Wash Mode Notification

Tesla will now pop up a reminder to activate Car Wash Mode whenever it detects you are near a car wash. This proactive notification makes it easy to prepare your vehicle with a single tap, rather than having to remember to dig into the menus yourself.
Car Wash Mode Redesign

The Car Wash Mode interface has been completely redesigned. A vehicle visualization now appears on the right side of the screen alongside the preparation checklist on the left. Items that need attention — such as an open window or trunk — are highlighted in red. The "Enable Free Roll" option at the bottom is now more prominent, making it easier to put the vehicle into neutral.
Parking Brake Change

The option to manually engage the emergency (parking) brake from the touchscreen — previously found at the bottom of Controls > Safety — has been removed. However, drivers can still activate the emergency brake using the physical gear stalk or the Park icon on the touchscreen.
Switch to Bluetooth

When your phone is connected via Bluetooth and the vehicle detects audio playing on it, a prompt will now appear suggesting you switch the audio source to Bluetooth so the sound comes through the car's speakers. This eliminates the common confusion of wondering why phone audio is not playing through the vehicle.
New Visualizations With Unreal Engine

The Unreal Engine-powered visualizations previously exclusive to the 2026 Model S and Model X are now rolling out to all 2021 and newer Model S and Model X vehicles. In addition to improved instrument cluster and menu visuals, you can freely rotate the vehicle visualization in the Controls menu and interact with the parked-mode module by panning and zooming.
Air Suspension Controls

Air suspension controls for the Model S and Model X have been moved into the main Controls section, eliminating the need to navigate to a separate Suspension tab. The 2026 models already had this streamlined layout; 2025 and older vehicles retain the more detailed legacy Suspension menu.
Favorites On Map

All of your saved favorites, along with your Home and Work locations, are now pinned directly on the map. This makes it much easier to orient yourself while scrolling around the map and quickly spot when you are near a favorite restaurant, friend's house, or other saved location.
View Dashcam Storage

You can now check how much storage space your Dashcam USB drive has used and its total capacity. Navigate to Controls > Safety and scroll down to the Dashcam section to view the storage breakdown.
Dashcam Filters

The Dashcam Viewer now includes additional filtering categories beyond the basic Dashcam and Sentry tabs. Videos are automatically sorted by the event that triggered the recording — such as Honk, Manual Save, Handle Pull, and more — making it far easier to find the clip you are looking for.
Hebrew Language Added

Hebrew is now available as a touchscreen language option. To switch, shift into Park and go to Controls > Display > Touchscreen Language.
Service Mode Improvements

Two notable additions have been made to Service Mode. First, a new Thermal Control Components panel supports NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) diagnosis by letting technicians individually control thermal components, set targets, and sweep operating ranges with real-time feedback — complete with a 3D heat pump visualization. Second, the Airbags panel now includes a routine to disarm airbags without disconnecting the low-voltage battery, and individual component resistance readings can be viewed by tapping on each airbag or pretensioner.
