Elon Musk’s roadmap for the end of the year included FSD v14.3, a build expected to bring more advanced reasoning. That timeline has slipped, and instead of a new major release, Tesla is deploying FSD v14.2.2.2 via update 2025.45.7.

The build’s lengthy version number reflects how refined and stable it aims to be. Below are early impressions from drivers and testers on what changed.

Polished Intuition

The most noticeable improvement in this rollout—now reaching a larger portion of the fleet after less than 48 hours with early-access testers—is a reduction in hesitation. In complex situations where v14.2.2 or v14.2.2.1 would pause or stutter, v14.2.2.2 demonstrates greater confidence.

That confidence appears to come from extra polishing by Tesla’s AI team over the holidays. The update also brings refinements to Speed Profiles and how they respond to surrounding traffic, along with improved behavior around highway exits.

Better Perception

A core focus of this interim release is the perception stack. Engineers have tuned the system to better detect and predict the actions of vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists.

In early-access testing, drivers in parking garages reported the vehicle preparing for pedestrian movement around blind corners—shifting from a reactive approach (hard braking) to a predictive one (smoothing speed earlier).

Nag Fixed - Again

Another positive change is a reduction in false positives from the Driver Monitoring System. The previous release increased nagging for minor head movements or partially obscured hands; that behavior appears to have been dialed back, restoring the smoother hands-aware operation introduced in earlier v14 builds.

The Takeaway

FSD v14.2.2.2 isn’t the large reasoning upgrade many anticipated from a future v14.3, but it is a notably polished, more stable iteration that corrects several erratic behaviors seen in earlier v14 releases.

Update 2025.45.7

FSD Supervised 14.2.2.2

  • Installed on 2.4% of fleet
  • 52 installs today
  • Last updated: Dec 30, 4:40 pm UTC

Overall, the update prioritizes stability and smoother behavior, making everyday supervised driving feel more consistent across the fleet.
