Tesla Hikes Cybertruck Prices Up to 9%, Pauses Base Dual Motor AWD

Tesla has increased Cybertruck prices in the U.S. by up to 9% and has stopped taking new orders for the base Dual Motor AWD trim (via @SawyerMerritt).

The move comes as Elon Musk said Tesla will end Cybertruck production around mid-2027 to free up space at Giga Texas for the Cybercab.

New Cybertruck Prices

The Premium AWD now starts at $92,490, a $7,500 jump from $84,990. The top-spec Cyberbeast rises from $99,990 to $102,490, a 2.5% increase that pushes Tesla’s flagship pickup past $100,000 for the first time.

Cybertruck price changes chart

The base Dual Motor AWD is currently unavailable to order. It appears grayed out in Tesla’s configurator, but it now shows a price of $82,490, up 10% from $74,990.

A Year of Price Hikes

Earlier this year, Tesla launched the Dual Motor AWD at $59,990 in February as a no-frills work truck, retaining bed outlets, a powered tonneau cover, and 325 miles of range while dropping air suspension and some interior features.

That price held for less than 10 days. On March 1, Tesla raised it to $69,990, and estimated delivery dates for new orders slipped into 2027. In August, Tesla added another $5,000 to both dual-motor trims.

Here’s how Cybertruck prices have changed this year:

Trim Early 2026 August 2026 Now
Dual Motor AWD $59,990 $74,990 $82,490 (orders paused)
Premium AWD $79,990 $84,990 $92,490
Cyberbeast $99,990 $99,990 $102,490

As a result, the Premium AWD is $12,500 higher than at the start of the year, an increase of nearly 16%. If reopened, the Dual Motor AWD would be $22,500 above its launch price.

Following the Model S and X Playbook

The Cybertruck is now tracking the same pattern as the Model S and Model X. Tesla raised prices on both before closing orders for good on March 31, and their Fremont production lines have since been converted to build Optimus robots.

Low sales volume contributed to that outcome, and it appears relevant here as well. Tesla doesn’t report Cybertruck sales separately, but it delivered just over 12,000 “Other Models,” including the Cybertruck, Semi, and remaining Model S and X, in Q2.

Tesla has not stated why Dual Motor AWD orders are paused. The company may be clearing an existing backlog or concentrating remaining production on higher-priced trims. For now, the Premium AWD and Cyberbeast remain available to order as production winds down next year.
