The other 12,000

12,000+ fast chargers your Tesla can't plug into. Yet.

Superchargers sit at about 3,100 sites. Fast chargers from everyone else sit at roughly four times as many. Same electricity, different plug. One adapter closes the gap.

Same Tesla. A much bigger map.
Quick answer

Outside the Supercharger network the U.S. has about 38,000 fast-charging ports at roughly 12,000 locations. Nearly 9 in 10 of those ports still don't use Tesla's plug.

A CCS1 adapter is the key. If your Tesla supports CCS (a 30-second check, steps below), you can plug into those stations. You will not need it every day. You will want it the day your Supercharger is full.

Everyone else's network, in numbers.

AFDC data as of September 1, 2026. Locations are our estimate from AFDC totals.

7 things to know about the other 12,000

These are the networks and numbers a CCS1 adapter puts on your Tesla's map. Port counts are AFDC data as of September 1, 2026.

  1. Electrify America alone has 5,936 ports

It is the biggest fast-charging network outside Tesla, and the one most Tesla owners run into first on a road trip.

Paren counts it among the operators opening the largest non-Tesla stations: 20 or more ports at a single site.

    • 5,936 ports
  2. EVgo is right behind with 5,246

If one network's stalls are full or down, the other is often your Plan B. With an adapter you are choosing between networks, not between waiting and leaving.

    • 5,246 ports
    Both ends: CCS1 and J1772
  3. That is 12,000+ locations. One adapter.30-day money-back guarantee. Free US shipping.

    Try OmniVolt
  4. ChargePoint: 4,937 ports, built small

71% of ChargePoint's new sites in Q3 2026 had two ports or fewer. That means lots of places to try and few stalls at each one, so check the app for status before you detour.

    • 4,937 ports
  5. IONNA is the fast one to watch

IONNA ranked second for new fast-charging ports in Q3 2026: 378 new ports, all at 400 kW or faster, on top of 1,458 ports in total. It also just opened its first NACS-only sites.

Where a site is NACS-only, your Tesla plugs in directly. Where it has CCS1 cables, the adapter does the job.

    • 1,458 ports
    • +378 in Q3
  6. Walmart is building its own network

Walmart has well over 900 fast-charging ports and added 344 more at 400 kW or faster in Q3 2026. Charging where you already buy groceries is the kind of habit that makes road trips boring, in a good way.

  7. Superchargers first. Everyone else second.Nothing to install in the car. Fits in the glovebox.

  8. The long tail has 12,382 ports

Smaller networks fill the gaps between the big ones: Red E Charge has 2,141 ports, Blink 2,059 and EV Connect 1,731. These are the stations a Supercharger-only driver never sees.

On some routes, one of them may be your only fast-charging option.

    • 12,382 ports on other networks
  9. 74% of new non-Tesla builds are still CCS1

In Q3 2026, Paren counted 74% of new non-Tesla fast-charging connectors as CCS1 and 23% as NACS. Year to date, the U.S. added 6,001 CCS1 connectors.

NACS is coming, and it is not here yet for the other 88% of ports. Those CCS1 chargers do not disappear overnight.

Two maps. One is a lot bigger.

Without an adapter you see Tesla's map. With one, you see the rest of the country's fast chargers too.

With OmniVolt:

  • 12,000+ more locations to try
  • CCS1 fast charging up to 250 kW
  • J1772 Level 2 included

Without an adapter:

  • Superchargers only
  • Full stalls mean waiting
  • A broken stall means rerouting

Check your Tesla in 30 seconds

Most Teslas built in the last several years can charge at CCS1 stations through an adapter. Confirm yours in the car.

  1. ControlsTap Controls, then Software on the touchscreen.
  2. Vehicle infoOpen Additional Vehicle Information.
  3. CCS supportLook for CCS Adapter Support. “Enabled” means you are ready.

Teslas built before about 2020 may need a one-time hardware retrofit from Tesla for CCS1 fast charging. J1772 Level 2 charging does not need it.

Questions, answered

Does it work at all 12,000 locations?

Not every one. A station needs a CCS1 connector, and your Tesla needs CCS support. A NACS-only site is a direct plug-in for your Tesla, and a site that is down is down for everyone. Start with the big networks above, which publish live status in their apps.

How do I know my Tesla supports it?

Open Controls, Software, Additional Vehicle Information and look for CCS Adapter Support. If it says Enabled, you are ready. Cars built before about 2020 may need a one-time retrofit from Tesla for CCS1 fast charging. J1772 Level 2 charging needs no retrofit.

Does an adapter make my Tesla charge faster?

No. Charging speed is set by your car and the station. The adapter is a passive pass-through, so it lets them connect without slowing them down.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping is free in the U.S., with delivery in 7 to 15 business days.

The other 12,000 are one adapter away.

Superchargers stay your first choice. The other 12,000 are for the day they are not an option.
