Space Box works in Teslas with an AMD Ryzen infotainment processor: Model Y 2021 to 2024 and Juniper 2025 to 2026, Model 3 2021 to 2023 and September 2023 to 2026, Model S and X 2021 to 2026, and Cybertruck. It does not work on Intel Atom cars.

Your Tesla needs an AMD Ryzen processor
This is the one requirement that matters most. Open Controls, Software, Additional Vehicle Information and look at the processor. AMD Ryzen means you are ready. Intel Atom means Space Box will not work.
Tesla began shipping Ryzen cars in December 2021, and Intel Atom cars were sold through 2022, so for 2021 and 2022 builds check the menu instead of the year.

Your model and year need to be on the list
Model Y 2021 to 2024 and Juniper 2025 to 2026. Model 3 2021 to 2023 and September 2023 to 2026. Model S 2021 to 2026. Model X 2021 to 2026. Cybertruck November 2023 to 2026.

Setup is three steps
Plug Space Box into the Tesla's USB port with the included cable. Join the box's Wi-Fi network and open the setup address in the Tesla browser. Pair your phone over Bluetooth and start CarPlay or Android Auto.
The box comes with USB-A and USB-C cables and a printed and video guide. No tools are needed.

According to the product page, some devices need a firmware update to stay compatible with new Tesla software. The update is downloaded from a shared folder with step-by-step instructions, and it cannot be done automatically. Teslahubs says it is working on a smoother process.
