Tesla owners in Canada are receiving an upgrade to their navigation and charging experience. Supercharger Site Maps are now available in Canada, delivering a high-fidelity, real-time 3D visualization of Supercharger stations.

Live 3D Overview

Instead of navigating to a simple pin and arriving at an unfamiliar lot, the vehicle now presents an interactive 3D view of the exact site.

Drivers can see the precise placement of each stall, the most efficient entrance and exit routes, and real-time availability for every charger. The map also identifies trailer-friendly bays and handicap-accessible chargers.

It additionally shows accurate 3D vehicle models of the specific Teslas currently occupying stalls.

Slow Expansion

Tesla has been steadily broadening its 3D site maps to cover additional Supercharger locations throughout the US and Europe. The 3D models are already included in the software, and Tesla’s API handles the rest, allowing new locations to be added without a vehicle update.

Tesla stated that it is utilizing its team at Giga New York to map and deploy over 300 new Supercharger locations globally every single week. At the current rate, Tesla will likely have all its locations mapped by the end of 2026.

Tesla App

3D site maps are currently available only in the vehicle. The Tesla app is expected to add similar functionality in the future. While a pin on a map can be helpful, charging in an unfamiliar parking lot often leads to searching for the Supercharger; this capability makes that process easier.

The rollout in Canada arrives ahead of the high-traffic summer travel season. As NACS becomes the universal industry standard plug-in in North America and the number of non-Tesla EVs continues to grow, charging sites are becoming increasingly busy.
