Countries Awaiting Approval for Tesla FSD (Supervised)
Teslas global rollout of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) continues to advance. At the CVPR conference in Denver this week, Tesla AI chief Ashok Elluswamy presented a slide listing every country still awaiting regulatory approval. The slide was shared on X by Tesla community member @wholemars. Below is a summary of the approval map shown in the presentation.
Americas
North America already has broad FSD access across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. Expansion efforts in South America are now focused on two additional markets awaiting approval:
- Chile
- Colombia
Europe
Momentum is building quickly. After the Dutch RDW granted a landmark approval in the Netherlands in April, Lithuania and Estonia (rollout pending) have also approved FSD. Many European countriesboth within and outside the EUreference the Dutch RDW for automotive regulation, helping accelerate subsequent decisions. Belgium is moving to fast-track its local approval process, Sweden has authorized expanded public road testing, Latvia is rumored to be nearing sign-off, and Tesla is in active talks for deployment in Ireland.
EU Countries Pending FSD Approval: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.
Non-EU Countries Pending FSD Approval: Albania, Andorra, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the U.K.
Middle East
Regional validation is underway to adapt FSDs neural networks to local infrastructure and weather. Tesla officially started road testing in the UAE earlier this year to train FSD for desert conditions and heat haze. In Israel, Transport Minister Miri Regev has confirmed that FSD is coming soon.
Pending Middle East Markets:
- Israel
- Qatar
- Saudi Arabia
- Turkey
- UAE
The presentation slide also appeared to highlight Bahrain as a potential addition, though this was not entirely clear.
Asia
Tesla classifies China as already having approved FSD, and the software launched there last year with version 13, but it reached only a limited number of vehicle owners. Wider public availability has been paused due to local data regulations. Recent updates to the Chinese owners manual and website indicate an FSD relaunch may be coming soon, this time with version 14. Tesla has also announced it aims to officially launch FSD in Japan before the end of the year.
Pending Asian Markets:
- India
- Japan
- Malaysia
- Taiwan
- Thailand
Africa
One African market is currently included on the pending list:
- Ethiopia
Tesla is deploying FSD validation teams worldwide and working through varied regulatory frameworks across multiple continents in parallel. While exact timelines depend on local authorities, the breadth of active testing indicates broader road access is approaching.
