Tesla Adds European-Style Semi-Truck Visualizations

European-style semi-truck visualization on Tesla display

With software update 2026.14, Tesla owners in Europe now see more region-specific object renderings on the center display.

The interface now depicts flat-fronted, European-style semi-trucks. This appears to complement the existing North American-style semi visualization, allowing the vehicle to detect and show both types.

This addition does not require FSD, so it is available to all users.

Trusting in the Viz

Center-screen visualizations serve as the main communication bridge between the vehicle's "brain" and the driver.

Comfortably and safely supervising an advanced driver assistance system depends on trusting that the car accurately perceives nearby surroundings. When a driver in Europe sees a cab-over heavy transport vehicle ahead and the same localized profile appears on the screen, it reinforces confidence in the system’s perception capabilities.

The Delayed Release

The European semi-truck model has been in the software for some time, but it appears to have been enabled only with the latest Spring Update.

The 3D model for the European semi-truck was added back in October alongside approximately 15 new visual assets, though not all are active.

Users have also recently seen horses and golf carts, suggesting these new visualizations are being enabled gradually.

Waiting on the Neural Net

Delivering a 3D model to the car is straightforward, but showing it in the user interface requires connecting design with AI. Tesla is activating dormant visualizations only when the system can reliably recognize the relevant objects at a specific confidence threshold.

When Tesla first enabled the golf cart visualization, people reported various objects being rendered as golf carts, including SMART cars and other small vehicles. Tesla is likely continuing to collect data and will enable additional visualization in the coming months.
