Tesla has begun sending invitations for an invite-only delivery event at its Fremont, California factory to mark the final production run of the Model S and Model X.

According to an invite shared by Tesla watcher Sawyer Merritt on X (@sawyermerritt), the "Signature Edition Delivery Event" is scheduled for May 12, 2026. Tesla invites customers to "Join us for an invite-only celebration of the first of the last deliveries of Model S and Model X Signature Edition—ever." Attendees will be able to enjoy refreshments and purchase exclusive merchandise, and the invite adds: "You may even be able to take delivery of your Signature Edition vehicle."

The Final 350 Units

The Signature Edition vehicles are limited to 250 units of the Model S and 100 units of the Model X. The Model X Signature Edition is reportedly sold out, and Model S availability is likely nearing its limit.

These are not standard Plaids. They feature bespoke "Garnet Red" paint, gold Tesla "T" badges, and a numbered dashboard plate (e.g., 1/250), along with other unique details. The interior uses a white theme with gold piping and Alcantara accents. Pricing is $159,420, a significant increase over the $124,990 price for a standard Model S Plaid following recent inventory price hikes.

Strict Terms for a Legendary Send-off

Because of the limited supply, buyers must sign a one-year no-resale agreement and grant Tesla the right of first refusal if they choose to sell.

Each vehicle includes the "Luxe Package," which bundles Lifetime Supercharging, Full Self-Driving (Supervised), four years of Premium Service, and Premium Connectivity. These high-value perks cannot be transferred to a second owner.

An Era Comes to a Close

The May event signifies the end of production for the Model S and Model X. Tesla officially closed custom orders at the end of March, and with inventory nearly cleared out, the Signature Editions serve as the final units.

As Fremont production shifts toward mass-market projects and the Optimus robot, the May 12 celebration acts as a send-off to the vehicles that helped establish Tesla’s lineup.
